I'm excited and honored to help debut a new Durham, NC band comprised of familiar local faces and instruments. Kitten Party were kind enough to turn over their new songs recorded by legendary local producer Jerry Kee (Superchunk, Archers of Loaf, Polvo, Kingsbury Manx, Pipe, etc) and mastered by wonder-ear Chris Rossi to the BCRP project, and I couldn't be more grateful. Like a blast from the past, their first batch of songs have a melodic, whimsical shimmer offset with a mathy, driving slant arcing just beneath the surface. It's a balance well preserved and not easily effected. Includes members of Wembley, Regina Hexaphone, and Spatula among others. Please listen, share, and support. Thanks for listening! —chaz
